Carrie Evans, DNP, APRN-CNP
Carrie entered the medical field in 2005 as a certified nursing assistant, where she has worked multiple nursing homes. Eventually she began working as a medical assistant at a busy primary care office which sparked her interest in the nursing field.
She graduated from The University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She then attended nursing school at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, NWOSU, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
She has nine years working as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department and Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. As a nurse, she obtained a Certification in Emergency Nursing, served as a preceptor for new nurses, and was nominated for nurse of the year.
During that time Carrie returned to NWOSU to obtain her Doctor of Nursing Practice. She is nationally certified though the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and the American Academy of Neurology.
Her philosophy in nursing is to promote a healthcare environment that is respectful and therapeutic for patients and their families. It is her goal to develop strong provider-patient relationships that values patient’s freedom of choice in their own healthcare decisions.
